A comprehensive book about Estonian knitting culture that can be used as a textbook.
The second edition of this book is in front of you. In it, we have supplemented the overview of archaeological textiles found in Estonia with items that were found during the excavation of a late medieval landfill in Tallinn several years after the first edition of this book was published. We also included some fascinating items in museum collections that we weren't aware existed at the time. Place and personal names have also been specified in this edition, some pattern schemes have been slightly corrected and adjusted, and new pattern schemes have also been added.Over the centuries, weavers in Estonia have created their own world of beauty with the help of needles and yarn - combining simple and complex patterns from everything seen and eye-catching, putting together color magic that touches us to this day.
